Private medical insurance (PMI) provides cover against the costs of private medical treatment.
The need for PMI:
1. The National Health Service (NHS) is not good at providing timely treatment of acute, but
non-life threatening conditions.
2. There can be very long waiting lists for treatment and in some cases a long waiting list just to
see a specialist for diagnosis.
3. In some cases recently there have been allegations of ‘waiting lists to get on the waiting list’.
4. Many people thus prefer to have operations done privately to avoid a long wait.
5. Private treatment can also increase the chance of the time and place being suitable to the
patient. The patient can effectively choose their hospital and surgeon, which is not really
possible in the NHS.
6. The NHS provides a standard level of provision, which may not be to the taste of all patients.
Please contact us directly or use our online enquiry form for more information or if you wish to
arrange some PMI. Alternatively we can review your existing arrangements.
